Queen Elizabeth of England was the ruler at the time of the Spanish Armada's attack. That attack of the armada required Elizabeth to take courage in her country and face the battle head on. Though there were many factors that were not in England's favor, Elizabeth showed complete devotion and loyalty to her country and people. The confidence she had with her people led to her people to become confident too. Her leadership saw many English people to trust and respect the Queen. During the battle of the Spanish Armada, Queen Elizabeth went to Tilbury and watched her people fight instead of her hiding in her palace. She inspected her troops and gave out one of her most famous speech. When victory was announced the people celebrated and a service was held at St. Paul Cathedral. Medals were given out with the words, "God blew and they were scattered". Queen Elizabeth's leadership helped her people to get through the battle and made her a major figurehead of change in history. ("The Spanish Armada of 1588").
